Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Back to the Basics

So I am finally posting the rest of our vacation because if I am bored with these posts ya'll are as well. I think I am just depressed that I cannot actually live at Disneyland. We finished up our vacation by going back to Newport Coast. We stayed from October 8-11. Disney was a lot more crowded this time around. There was a California/Arizona holiday. In fact one night we were going to eat at the coke cafe and watch the parade. I was standing in line to get food and Cody had gone to take Tabatha to the restroom. He got back and I was still in line, its a good thing, because Tabatha had an accident and we needed to leave. We tried to leave but a short walk down main street and we were stuck. No one could move. The little guys with the light wands, weren't helping, we stayed that way until the parade was over. I was pretty sure I had lost it and Cody wanted to just leave and go home, that is when you know he has lost it. We really didn't leave and go home. We slept and went back for some more the next day. This will be the last trip we take for awhile. We really had a good time. We left to come home on the 11th of October and when we hit Beaver we got a nice blizzard to drive in. Who doesn't love leaving 80-90 degrees and coming home to freezing. Gotta love Utah!

San Diego

We made our way up to San Diego on October 4. We stayed at an older Residence Inn in La Jolla, about 2 minutes from the temple. The Residence Inn was like town home style buildings. I love Residence Inn's because you get a full complimentary breakfast and on Mon-Thurs you get free dinner. We took advantage of all of that, since we had a budget. On the fourth we just relaxed that night, unpacked and went out to dinner. On the 5th we made our way to Sea World. When we were leaving in the morning our car wouldnt start and I had remebered we forgot to get gas the night before. Our gas gage is broken in our car, so we are empty when it reads that we have a quarter tank left. Kyle had to drive Cody to the gas station to get a gas can. Wala and the car starts. None of my kids have been to Sea World before and they loved it. One of the shows is at night and they sell all sorts of glowing and light up things. We bought these mugs that light up with hot cocoa in them. That was our one purchase from Sea World, since we brought our own food. On the 6th we headed to Lego Land. Now Lego Land looks cool and seems cool from the things you read about it, but it is kind of lame. The kids loved it though. There was only one ride that Brookly and Bailey could ride on, so it is definitely for kids Tabatha's age and older. I recommend going there once, but I dont think we will go back. On the 7th we headed to the Zoo. Yeah! Finally a place with free parking. I thought that we would not be able to see the whole zoo because of how large it is, but we got all of it in. We also walked the who0le thing. I think we walked like 5-6 miles that day. I loved seeing the Panda bears and Koala Bears. I love Zoo's and this was an awesome zoo! They have great living quarters for all of their animals. If I was an animal, that had to live in a zoo, I would live there. On the 8th we headed back to Newport Coast for more Disney fun and I will post that in a couple days. I will also add some pictures to this post later today. I wanted to get the writing done while I was at work and wouldn't be disturbed.

First Newport Coast Stay

So our next stop was Newport Coast for three nights. We got a new unit with a beautiful view of the ocean and golf course. We arrived about 20 minutes early and our room wasnt ready yet. So we had the car in the carport waiting. We turned off the engine but kept the radio, GPS and DVD players going. When we went to drive up to our unit the battery was dead. The resort couldnt jump us, due to liability. Luckily one of my co-workers was there and he was able to jump us. We got settled in and then went grocery shopping. We had to make lunches for Disney and every where else we went, I didnt want to spend 40+ for every meal. The next morning we woke up and went to Disnleyland, the happiest place on earth and of course where dreams come true. I totally become a kid again when we go there. I just want to go go go. We take pictures with every character we see. I am a Disney Freak and I would live there if I could. The first ride we went on was The Haunted Mansion done up as Nightmare Before Christmas. We always go to Disney in the Fall, the last time I saw the mansion as the mansion was nine years ago. It was fun to see some new Halloween decor that I havent seen before. We also went with some friends that had never been to Disney before, so it was fun to see their reaction to things. We attended Disney the last day of our first stay at Newport and on October 4th we headed to San Diego. I will post San Diego in a couple days.

Las Vegas

We made it back! We went on a two week vacation. So I am going to post this in segments, because it is so long. Our first stop was Las Vegas. We left on Sept 29th and stayed at the Marriott's Grand Chateau. We stayed there for two nights and of course it was comped. That place is beautiful and they treat you like movie stars. There is only valet parking and it is free, but of course you need to tip the valet boys. It is a two block walk to the strip, it is right behind Planet Hollywood. We walked up and the down the strip, ate at the buffet in Treasure Island, before the show they have there and then watched the show. When we started walking down the strip and I tried to take a picture, I realized I left the SD card in the computer at home. The two camera shops on the strip were closed, how convenient, but there was a electronic store in the mall, YEAH! I bought a new purse and wallet. We bought some M&M's. Brooklyn got purple and white and Bailey got pink and white. Tabatha picked out her own colors and Cody got Miami Dolphins colors. We were on vacation on a budget so we didnt spend a lot of money in Vegas. We left Vegas on October 1st and headed to Marriott's Newport Coast Villas. I will post that in a couple of days.
