Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Thanksgiving & Preparing for Holy Days

So we had a great Thanksgiving. We went to Cody's Mom's house, we switch off every year. Although we did have a Thanksgiving dinner at my Mom's on the Sunday before, it will be the last dinner we have together as a family in that house. My Mom sold her house and will be moving out on December 19. Anyway Lynda (Cody's Mom) cooked all of the food for Thanksgiving dinner. I did help out washing celery and putting cheese and paprika in the celery. I cooked the corn and made the gravy and she did everything else. Theron, which is Lynda's husband, his sisters came over. So it was Cody, myself, Tabatha, Bailey, Brooklyn, Lilly (Holt's daugter), Theron, Lynda and Therons two sisters. It was a small party but it was great. We ate and then I creamed everyone at Apples to Apples. Lynda gives each one of us a ornament and we open them the day we put the tree up, which is the day after Thanksgiving.
We put the tree up today and all of the decorations. I love Christmas! I love cleaning the house as we put up the decorations! I love the smell of Christmas. I love how everyone is so nice to each other during this season. Don't be politically correct, say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays, let everyone know you love CHRISTmas!

Caroline's Spine & Twilight

So on friday night Cody and I went on a date. Since Celine cancelled we decided to go to a free show at Club Allure. Cody's favorite band was playing, "Caroline Spine." They are a rock band. They were here promoting their new album, trying to get KBER and X96 to play their frist single. They are pretty good, this was my third concert of their's, so I know a lot of their songs. The lead singer is pretty down to earth, he likes the local scene better than a huge areana. He meets with all the fans after every show and signs autographs. I actually talked to him for a little while. It was nice to get out with Cody as well, that was long needed. We went to dinner at Chilis with Kyle and Treana and then went to the show. The bar tender at the club probably thought I was crazy for only ordering a Red Bull, but whatever. The first time I ordered the Red Bull it was $1.75 when I wne tback later that night it was $4.25, what the? The Red Bull didnt do anything to me, that I could tell, I could've still fallen asleep. My kids slept at my Mom's house that night, so it was nice to have a break and alone time with mu Hubby.
The next morning, saturday morning, Cody went to film some paintball shots with his team. I got to have a break by myself and then I went to lunch and "Twilight" with JoDee and Nancy. It was nice to get out with the girls. I thought the movie was good, I dont know that they could have done a better job because it would have been 8 hours long. It seemed a little choppy from the book, but that is because it would have been too long. I think Bella needed to be prettier, but what can I say. So my weekend was the best it has been for a long long time.

Celine Dion

So I am sitting at home and my phone rings. It is a recorded message about my Celine Dion concert on the 21st of November. The first thought in my head was don't say it is cancelled. So it tells me the show has been postponed until February 22nd, which happens to be a Sunday. I am so disappointed. I bought these tickets over a year ago. I never got to see Celine in Vegas, so I went all out on this show. I joined the fan club so I could purchase tickets before they went on sale to the public. I have the fifth row on the floor. I am so excited! My Sister JoDee and I are going together. So I called JoDee and told her the GREAT news! We were disappointed together. We have both decided we are still going, even though it is on a Sunday. I will be taking that Monday of work off. Also it ruins us going to dinner before the show, we just get to eat before we leave. The good news is we are now going to see "Twilight" on Saturday. I now get to keep waiting for Celine, she better not cancel. She is my favorite and I will see her in concert, Dang It!

Ding Ding Ding and There is a Light

This is going to be one of those warm and fuzzy posts, if you know what I mean. So I have been thinking a lot lately about my life. I have come to realize that I have been numb for a long time. I think that it takes almost losing something to realize what is really going on around you and what you have. Just recently it has been like I have woken up from a long Winters nap and the light bulb finally turned on. I finally feel some meaning that I haven't felt for a long time. I think sometimes bad things happen for good reasons. It doesn't always make it right, but its just the way it had to be. I usually am just waiting for something bad to happen to me, becasue I am just not that lucky. I really need to get better at putting my faith in the Lord, that he knows what is best for us. Its really that simple but that hard all at the same time. Life can be easier, by doing things we think are so hard, but really if we do those things it is so much better. A little story to go along with this. At work sometimes we have Owners that just don't get it, we can explain it to them three different ways. We say that they don't even have a light switch to turn the bulb on. Then out of no where the light finally turns on and they get it. I finally have my light bulb on. If we just listen more carefully the answers are there all along. There is someone helping you and guiding you the whole way. Take this as you will, but its just what has been in my head lately.

My New Goal

So I have just set a new goal for myself. I am so behind in my scrap booking and I have four books to keep up with. My new goal is to get caught up on all the books by Christmas. So today I got everything sorted and I started on Bailey's book. I got about six pages done. I have like 10 more pages to go and I will be caught up on hers. Then I will move on to Brooklyn's, Tabatha's and then mine and Cody's. I am a year behind on all the books. When I started with Bailey's today I was doing their first birthday. So everyone wish me luck! If you know me I should exceed this goal early. I am an activator and I hate to let things just sit. The only thing with scrap booking is I have no where to just leave all the stuuf out. I have to get it ou and pack it up everytime I want to work on it. Today while I was sorting everything Brooklyn and Bailey got a hold of some of my pens and they happened to find "The nightmare Before Christmas" DVD to use the pens on. How they find these things to do, I will never know. That is what makes this goal a little bit hard. We shall see how I do.

Memories In the Corner of My Mind

Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

I thought I would post a picture of the one of my millions of memories. This was our first Christmas with Tabatha. I spent a fortune on her dress (Baby Gap). I felt really fat in this picture and Cody's face looks really slim. It was 2 months after Tabatha was born when this picture was taken. I am thankful for our first little helper girl. She is a big help to our family! She was a very darling baby as well! How time flies, since I don't look like I am 12 any longer, like I do in this pic.

Halloween Fun

These are pictures from my work. The kids came trick or treating and I dressed up.

I am at work on this lovely, rainy, Sunday morning and thought I would post and then when I get home I will add the pictures. Our family loves Halloween! We have a lot of fun decorations, some which scare the kids. We have this coffin that we put on our door step that has a sensor in it. So when someone walks up to the door it starts making a thundering noise, a man pops up and screams and then goes back in the coffin. Its hard to explain. Tabatha is afraid of it and she asks if she can go out the garage, to go to school, so she doesnt have to walk by it. Tabatha didnt have school on Halloween, so they had their party on Thursday. Also they cannot wear costumes to school, so that was kinda lame, but she had fun anyways. Saturday the 25th my family had their annual Halloween party. My sister hired a DJ and we ate dinner, danced and played games all night long. We have the party at a church house, so there is enough room. I cant believe how much Brooklyn and Bailey love to dance. They could out-dance us all. Tabatha mostly just played with her cousins, running around the church and playing in the rooms, shes not much of a dancer. We had a limbo contest and the person that won is my cousin's boyfriend, he has to be like 6'3". I thought it was funny that the tallest person won. As you can see Tabatha was a witch and the girls were her twin black cats. They came trick-or treating at my work and then again on Halloween I took them around our townhomes. Cody stayed home and passed out candy. He dressed up like a Jedi and the neighbors dressed up as Darth Vader. It was funny because Darth Vader came over, rang the doorbell, suprised Cody and started play fighting with him. The neighbors love Halloween as much as we do, YEAH! The next day the decorations came down and we will get our house ready to put up the Christmas Decor, after Thanksgiving. We dont have any Thanksgiving Decor, maybe I should make some in my spare time, hehehehe. Well heres to another great Halloween and more to come! Cheers.
